REGISTRAR (Assistant Director - Tenement Administration)

Tenement Administration is overseen by the Registrar who is also known as the Assistant Director. The Registrar is incharge of all the Tenements (ELs, MLs, AMLs, MEs, LMPs, SMLs) all through out the country. The Registrar also receives and registers any Tenement Applications that are sent by sponsored companies or individuals. The Registrar is an Executive Officer to the Mining Advisory Board and the Board meets at the end of each month. The Registrar has five (5) subordinates under her supervision, namely; the Chief Warden, Deputy Registrar, two (2) Senior Wardens, a Secretary and a Clearner. Warden section is also under her supervision.

DEPUTY REGISTRAR

The Deputy Registrar take charge of the branch in the absence of the Registrar and performs duties in line with the duties of the Registrar. Apart from other matters, any matters relating to exploration licences should be referred to the Deputy Registrar for further information please contact:

CHIEF WARDEN

The Chief Warden takes charge of the wardens in areas all over the country, sets or fixes warden hearing dates, venues and time and send notices to affected Provincial Authorities and landowners on warden hearings. He conducts warden hearings, submits warden reports to MAB for consideration and Determine Compensation Agreements. The Chief Warden conducts Warden Determination hearing on Compensation Payments and attend to landowner quiries.

SENIOR WARDEN

The Senior Warden conducts warden hearing in different parts of the country, sends notices of warden hearing to affected Provincial Authorities and community covered by the Tenement boundaries. He submits Warden Report to MAB for consideration and attend to landowner quiries.

There is also another acting Senior Warden who is currently working with the Tenement Branch and she is under the supervision of the Registrar.

BRANCH SECRETARY

The Branch Secretary is the secretary to the Registrar and she plays an important role in the branch like answering telephone calls, screening callers and clients, doing general typing for the branch, creating new files and creating files when files are full, doing filing for all the Tenements, receipting of cheques for payments of all Tenements, sending faxes, preparing Post Courier advertisement for the Tenements, taking care of the stationeries and doing other jobs instructed to her by the branch staff and the Registrar.

BRANCH CLEANER

The branch has a cleaner and she also works in the Mining Division. Her job is to make tea when there is meeting held, clean the offices of the senior staff and the sections and do other jobs instructed to her by the staff of Mining Division.
